Committee Training

 

CMAP offers free training to volunteers and management committee representatives of non profit community services in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie & Maitland LGAs. Training provides the underpinning knowledge to assist committees implement effective management practices within an organisation.

Basic Committee Training

 

Committee Governance: constitution; meeting procedures; agendas and minutes of meetings; management committee roles and responsibilities; Incorporation and ACNC obligations.

 

Financial Management & Interpreting Financial Reports: key elements of accounting reports; accrual versus cash accounting; employee leave provisioning; asset depreciation; interpreting financial reports; liabilities and equity reserves.

 

Further mentoring sessions can be arranged for your committee tailored around your organisationís own financial reports to ensure greater relevance and benefit.

 

 

Leadership Training

 

Effective Leadership: a practical focus designed to provide a basic understanding of leadership to boost confidence and foster future involvement in a leadership role within community management.

 

 

Committee Mentoring

 

CMAP also provides advice & support (email, phone or visit) to individual management committees (& employees who support them) in the following areas:

Financial Management

       implementing accrual accounting

       accounting for asset purchases, depreciation and equity reserves

       budget preparation

       effective financial management strategies

       payroll obligations and employee leave provisions
